Effective for the 2019 renewal period, the City Council of Coronado approved a business certificate registration program. All those conducting business in Coronado are no longer required to pay a business tax; however, they are still required to register their business with the City and pay a flat $25 Business Registration fee plus a $4 State fee.

Business registrations for the City of Coronado can be renewed online. If any of the information printed on your renewal form has changed, or is incorrect, please make the necessary changes during the renewal process. If changes need to be made to any account related information that is not available online, please submit your renewal and corrections by postal mail.

Senate Bill (SB) 205, signed by Gov. Newsom in 2019, requires a person or entity who conducts a business operation that is a “regulated industry” to demonstrate enrollment with the NPDES permit program. The SB 205 only affects those businesses with primary Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) codes that are identified by the State Water Board as requiring enrollment in the Industrial General Permit (IGP) are affected. Process
After completing the online renewal process, please allow up to 3 weeks to receive your new business registration certificate.
